How it works

  1. Tell us what you need

Choose the service, when suits you, and anything the barber should know — wheelchair access, a ground-floor flat, or that you’d rather they didn’t use clippers.

  2. Pick your barber

You see what each one has been checked for before you choose. If you’d prefer someone who wears a body camera, you can ask for that too.

  3. They come to you

You get a four-digit code. The barber asks for it at the door, so you always know the right person has turned up. A family member or carer can give it for you.

Letting someone into your home

This is the part we take most seriously. Here is exactly what happens, and what it does and doesn’t prove.

Checked before they start

No barber can accept a job until their DBS certificate, qualification, insurance and photo ID have all been reviewed by us. If any of them lapse, they stop receiving work automatically — not when someone gets round to noticing.

Your code, at your door

The barber has to ask you for a four-digit code before the visit starts. It isn’t in their app — only you have it. If you’d rather not, or can’t, there’s another way through, and the visit is flagged for us to look at.

A record you can see

Arrival time, departure time and photos taken during the visit are all in your account — the same record the barber sees. Nothing is hidden from you about your own visit.

Cameras, honestly

Some barbers wear a body camera and you can ask for one who does. That means they’ve registered a device with us and agreed to our recording policy. It does not mean a camera is running during your visit — that stays your choice, on the day, and you can say no at any point.

Who it’s for

Anyone who finds getting to a salon hard, or would simply rather not.

  • Wheelchair users and people with limited mobility
  • Older people, including those living with dementia
  • People with conditions like Parkinson’s, MS or arthritis
  • Anyone recovering from illness or surgery
  • Family members and carers booking on someone’s behalf

What it costs

You choose the level of experience you want, and see the price range before you book.

Barber tiers and price ranges
TierTypical price
VolunteerFree
Amateur£8–£15
Semi-professional£15–£28
Professional£28–£55

Every tier is checked the same way. The tier reflects experience and qualification level, never how carefully someone has been vetted.

Barbers and hairdressers

Set your own area, your own hours, and your own rate within your tier. We handle the bookings, the payments and the compliance paperwork.

  • Choose the areas you’ll travel to and how far
  • Accept only the jobs that suit you
  • Get paid by bank transfer, cash jobs settled automatically
  • We remind you before your insurance or DBS re-check is due

You’ll need an Enhanced DBS certificate, a recognised barbering qualification, public liability insurance and photo ID. Volunteers need a Level 1 award or above; paid tiers need Level 2 or above.
